Our mission
Truck Claims Guide exists to explain truck insurance claims in plain, accurate English — so drivers, owner-operators, and fleet managers can navigate the claims process with confidence.
Research standards
- We research from primary sources: federal statutes and regulations (such as the Carmack Amendment and FMCSA rules), and established industry practice.
- We distinguish clearly between settled law, common industry practice, and general guidance.
- Money examples are always labeled as illustrative examples. We never invent claim payout figures, policy terms, or insurer practices and present them as facts.
- Time-sensitive pieces are dated and labeled (for example, “2026 Update”) so readers can judge currency.
Independence
We carry no advertising and no affiliate links, and no insurer or vendor pays for placement in our guides. Our only incentive is to be useful and correct.
Corrections
We correct verified factual errors promptly and transparently. If you spot an error, report it via our contact page with a source, and we will investigate.
Review
Guides are reviewed periodically for accuracy and updated when the underlying rules or practices change. Each article shows its publication date.
